Criteria for New Member Applicants
- Qualify as a tax exempt organization under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
- Be registered with the Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing as a charitable organization.
- Support social change or environmental progress, enabling people to achieve fuller participation in society through elimination of economic, cultural, political, or other barriers by allocating at least some of its resources to advocate for social and/or environmental justice.
- Have a written, board-approved non-discrimination policy that covers its board of directors, staff, volunteers and services.
- Be committed to affirmative action.
- Be an equal opportunity employer.
- Have a demonstrated base of community support and is engaged in development activities.
- Be incorporated for at least one year prior to applying for membership.
- Must not inhibit or prohibit employee organization through a collective bargaining agent.
- Must attend an orientation.
