Since its inception in 1981, Community Shares of Greater Milwaukee has made it possible for workplace donors to contribute over $5 million to local social justice and environmental causes.

“Social and Economic Equity”
Organizations like Adoption Resources of Wisconsin find permanent families for children with special needs, and provide post-adoption services to help sustain healthy families. Cream City Foundation promotes education and cultural awareness of the gay and lesbian community, plus health programs. Esperanza Unida works to connect Milwaukee’s low-income and minority populations with the economic mainstream through free skills training, job placement and support services. The Milwaukee Community Service Corps provides opportunities for low-income, ethnically diverse young adults to reshape their community and themselves through community work, education, and job training.

Organizations like Clean Wisconsin, Urban Ecology Center, Milwaukee Environmental Consortium, Wellspring Inc., and Sierra Club Foundation have made significant progress on public & environmental health issues through research and advocacy.
