Committees Job Descriptions 2010 - Community Shares of Greater Milwaukee
Development Committee: Responsible for increasing donations through outreach to individual donors, foundations, worksites and through special events.
Responsibilities:
· Develop annual fundraising plan and assist staff in implementation of plan.
· Play an active role in major, core and small individual donor work
· Plan and execute fundraising events.
· Take an active role in representing CS at campaign events
Finance Committee: Responsible for fiscal health of the organization including overseeing the creation of the budget, ensuring adequate financial controls and tracking of finances.
Responsibilities:
· Review and present financial statements to the board
· Interview and recommend auditor
· Review audit and present to board for approval
· With E.D., develop annual budget
· Perform mini-audits on candidates for new member organizations
Governance Committee: Assist in the development of the board of directors and periodically review the bylaws and other policies.
Responsibilities:
· Board recruitment, orientation and retention, bylaws review, policy review, review other committees’ goals and progress.
Marketing Committee: Responsible for increasing brand recognition and general awareness of CSGM and its mission.
Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement annual Marketing/PR Plan to increase awareness of CSGM.
· Help in creation of a clearly identifiable look for CSGM materials.
· Help in design of marketing materials for campaigns and outreach, possibly including annual report, brochure, display board, video and collateral materials – and suggest strategies for use.
· Help in securing media coverage
· Oversee or assist in website maintenance
Members Committee: Ensure the health of CSGM member organizations through a variety of activities including recruitment and retention of member organization and policy review.
Responsibilities:
· Recruitment and retention of member organizations.
· Review of annual membership renewal and new member documents
· Review CSGM Policy and bylaws issues that affect member organizations
