Community Shares of Greater Milwaukee respects the privacy of visitors to its website and has implemented the following policy:
Information about You
We do not collect any personal information from users browsing our website. Only aggregate data, such as the number of hits per page, is collected. Aggregate data is only used for internal purposes and does not provide any personal identifying information. You may contact us at info@milwaukeeshares.org to review personal information collected and request corrections.
Individual information about website visitors, including e-mail addresses, is never shared with third parties. We do not sell, rent, or share our donor’s names to outside vendors. Should you donate to any of our agencies through our website, Community Shares may share your name and address with them, unless directed otherwise.
Using your Credit Card
When using your credit card with us to make a donation, buy tickets, etc., we use that information only to fulfill the transaction you requested. We also maintain your contact information in our records so we can contact you to provide Community Shares updates and information on additional giving opportunities.
E-Shares Newsletter
Sending a short e-newsletter is a cost-effective way to stay connected with our donors, so that you are able to follow our progress and share in exciting news. This assists us in keeping our costs down (paper, printing, mailing, etc.). Should you decide to opt out, you only have to hit reply and type in “unsubscribe” in the subject line.
Links to Other Sites
Occasionally, we provide links to other websites for your convenience and information. These sites operate independently from our site and are not under our control. These sites may have their privacy notices in place, which we strongly suggest you review if you visit any linked websites. We are not responsible for the content of these sites, any products or services that may be offered through these sites, or any other use of these sites.
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect against unauthorized disclosure, use, alteration, or destruction of the personal information in our possession. When you provide credit card information to make a donation, we use the industry standard for internet security—Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology to help protect the information you provide. This Internet encryption standard scrambles data as it travels from your computer to our server. Please note, however, that perfect security does not exist on the Internet. You’ll know that you’re in a secure area of our website when a “lock” icon appears on your screen and the “http” portion of our URL address changes to “https.” The “s” stands for “secure.”
